about us

Fort littlegreen is a non-profit 501(c)3 established in 2013.

Mission Statement: To create an atmosphere where youth of all abilities can learn and thrive in the magic of nature in an outdoor-based camp experience. Focusing on cultivating compassion, character, and community we engage kids in organic growing, animal education, empathy, mentorship, leadership, and fun. With these principles in mind, we encourage the exploration of our environment and the natural world around us.

The Fort has three areas of primary focus in addition to general camp recreation: Gardening, small animal care, and connecting kids to nature.

Located on 10 acres of nature preserve, Fort littlegreen has beautiful gardens, 4 acres of woods, fields and prairies, fruit trees, and an animal center that includes chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, geese, turkeys, a donkey and a peacock. Other animals include a cat, turtle, bunny, and hamsters! All of our animals are meant for children to interact with, care for, and learn from.

Meet us at “The Fort!” Freedom in the great outdoors awaits!

“Go out, go out, I beg of you, and taste the beauty of the wild.

Behold the miracle of the earth, with all the wonder of a child.”
